Themed “Sustainable Development Goals: Engineering as an Enabler” and addressing four key areas: Sustainable Living, Green Economy, Energy Reset and Resilient Future, the Lecture will highlight the critical role that engineering plays in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a wide range of activities and initiatives outlined in the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
Guest-of-honour Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law will be making an address. The two distinguished keynote speakers are H.E. Kara Owen CMG CVO, British High Commissioner to Singapore and Mr Pang Xingjian, Zone President, East Asia, Schneider Electric. Experts will also delve deeper with participants into ‘Opportunities and Challenges: Energy Reset and Green Economy Moderator’ and “The Approach to Foster a Resilient Future and Sustainable Living” through two panel discussions.
This global event is organised jointly by The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), Singapore Polytechnic and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) in celebration of World Engineering Day (WED) for Sustainable Development.. It is aligned with the IES Green Plan 2030, an engineering-focused action plan designed to advance the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
